I never had the best of anything

Not gonna start today

But if I ever tried for anything

You'd be the one I'd play

I'd sing you a song

You'd be the main part

I'd open your eyes and

You'd see my heart

Wasn't born with a silver spoon

Lucky to find second base

But if you'd just look at me

I'd think I won the race

I can write you a poem

Words and prose select

You'd read only truth

Nothing to suspect

Even a book would be so easy

You'd conquer everything

Then hold my hand and walk away

I'd sing and dance and sing

I never had much of anything

For sure not much that mattered

But you're not just anything

I saw you...it left me shattered

The universe...whatever that is

More and bigger than we know

We can't ever understand

It's just like you...so
